March 1 is Zero Discrimination Day, the world's leading day to combat the stigma of people living with HIV. In many countries, laws create differences in treatment between people, many are excluded from basic services or suffer restrictions in their day-to-day lives because of their condition. These laws are discriminatory; they deny human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Specifically, ignorance about HIV and AIDS continues to generate fears and prejudices that generate situations of discrimination, both in the social, medical, legal and employment spheres. The December 1 Committee, a unitary platform of organizations dedicated to HIV and AIDS, dedicates its efforts to demanding the necessary political changes to eliminate this discrimination, as well as other actions related to the care and care of people. affected.

Once again, the Health program joins the demand against the stigma of people with HIV, and therefore invites students, PAS and PDI to the actions that will take place during this week to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS on our Campus:

Webinar Voices of HIVda. Fck Stigma, from the December 1 Committee, where people with HIV will tell their experiences in the first person. It will take place on March 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. A few days before, the FAS will publish the link to access social networks, no prior registration required.
Quick test campaign, at the Resource Center (pl. Cívica, next to the pharmacy), on 1 and 2 March from 10 am to 6 pm. If you want to take the test, you must register with this form: https://forms.gle/TqNzfU67k2dJdB4h9. Once you have registered we will contact you to specify the day and time. For this campaign, the Health program collaborates with Actua Vallès, an entity in the territory that works on sexual health. As in previous years, their professionals will take care of the tests on campus on the dates indicated.
We remind you that the rapid HIV test is free and confidential, and at the same time very necessary if you think you have been at risk of transmission, because if you test positive, it is beneficial to start treating as soon as possible.
